Your wife should be above your mother on a lot of things. Your wife is the mother of your hierarchy branch. She's the vessel of the legacy you will leave behind just like your mother was to your father. The woman you choose to be your wife should be the woman you see as the greatest woman in the world and nothing less. That woman you choose deserves to be number one and I'm sure if it were your son and he was marrying a woman youd agree. It's not the responsibility of the son to put his mother first, That's not his job at all that's his father's job. I think too many black men fall into this trap

You should definitely put your wife before your mom, and your mom should understand this . constantly siding with your wife isnt really going to make most mothers upset to the point that they disown you, but the opposite can be a serious issue that factors into a divorce.

It reeks of fatherlessness whenever you say you'd put your mother before your wife. It just shows a lack of understanding the family unit, and whats most important which is providing your child with a stable home life. How selfish to deny your child a mother while you cling to yours like a little boy.
