Dawg I wonder what my African American studies professor and US history professor would be saying right now in response to all this recent shyt.
Idk even know how
@kp404 would address a class to give these youngsters hope.
The best thing we can do is give them the truth. Show them the footage, have an in depth discussion with them, then explain how we collectivize against these violations against our people...I'll show them Robert F. Williams, who organized his Durham community into self-defense courses and neighborhood militia groups so that state sponsored and private white violence stopped because they saw the black masses as being protective of themselves and each other...its extremely difficult to be a teacher (I taught high school for 5 years) and its even more difficult to instill pride and consciousness into the youth in the 21st century since the media and the elites have beaten our people down, but I did it and will continue to do it because our people are strong, intelligent, and predisposed to communal agency...we must teach strategies of resistance that transcend space and time...we must look at what worked and what didn't work in social movements...
In other words, we must show the youth the countless examples of black resistance to oppression so they can understand that we are in a winnable fight...we have always fought, we have had both successes and failures, but we have always fought and will continue to fight for the nation we built and the communities we created...The students in my school loved me because they knew I cared and gave them hope for a better future...a future built by them with the knowledge and determination to seize power in government and create social movements across the globe...we must repeatedly reiterate that racial violence will no longer be tolerated, through ACTION...collectivized action...these are the things I've been saying at the rallies I've organized over the past 2 weeks here in Illinois; we are in for a long, nasty, but winnable fight, but we are all gonna have to get dirty, work together, and MAKE the state respect our HUMAN RIGHTS.
