Shop queen: N.J. rapper Fetty Wap says he owned 37 cars, 10 houses

“Trap Queen” and then proceeded to
stroll through Garden State Plaza throwing thousands in cash over the mall balcony?
Well, in a new
video posted Thursday, the emcee reveals the true extent of his spending as a new star: At one point, Fetty says, he’d purchased 37 cars, 10 houses, 14 apartments and $2.5 million in jewelry.
“It was bad,” the 28-year-old star says. "I was doing almost $200,000 a month in just bills.
But as the video is part of Spotify series called
“The Best Advice I Ever Got,” the rapper born Willie Maxwell explained that some wise words from his financial advisor made him realize he’d be broke before he could say “1738” if he didn’t slow down.
“Save 70%, spend 30%,” he says the advisor told him, adding he’s down to just one house and two cars now.
Fetty Wap’s most recent single,
“Everyday,” was released last month and he’s scheduled to perform at
Wellmont Theater in Montclair April 9.
He’s yet to release a followup LP to 2015′s debut album “Fetty Wap.”
