You didn't see many of them doing it during the 80s, either. Nobody really wanted to be like Prince or Rick James. Everyone wanted to be like Mike.

Aside from Fetty Wap who is doing this as a publicity stunt, who wants to be like Young Thug? Maybe I'm outta the loop but I don't see anyone taking fashion cues from Young Thug. Most Young Thug fans will tell you he dresses weird just like most Prince fans would in the 80's.
