Fight or walk away: What do you teach kids?

What do you teach kids? At point do you tell kids to fight. Vs. walking away from situations? Now obviously some say if they put their hands on you, you fight. Others, say if you feel a fight coming on get the first lick in. Others say walk away at all cost and avoid conflict. What do you teach kids? You can use whatever scenario you want. Now, in some cases of course if you teach kids to fight all the time and they get caught in a situation when somebody pulls out a gun.... Might not be the best thing to fight all time. But maybe you disagree? What do you say?

I tried to teach my kids to try and walk away from conflict but fight if they must. My 12 yr old daughter told me about a 7th grader picking on her, I asked what did she do. She said they girl just wouldnt leave her alone and she didnt wanna snitch, so she decked her like her big bro taught her. She said the girl left her alone after that. So I think its best to give them options on how to handle situations like that.

When I have kids, I'm gonna teach them to never show fear but choose carefully when picking fights. I've literally bluffed myself out of being robbed before just because I looked like I wasn't afraid to fight.

teach them how to defend themselves, and also vigorously develop their brain power, and logical reasoning and ability, so when life tests them they will know how to respond and handle themselves, and make the best decisions

i took karate and boxed when i was younger and was always doing sports up until like 2 years ago so im not too worried

when i have kids they'll do the same, at least up to high school, after that its on them

but ive only been in 2 real fights im pretty cool tho so it only comes to blows if the other person is tripping. i dont ever want to fight but aren't scared too. will teach my kids always be ready for a fight but it should be a last resort.

I was told to fight back IF someone put their hands on me first. That way I could claim self defense once suspension time came.

Basically.

If you teach them that fighting is the ABSOLUTE LAST resort, then you won't have much to worry about.

Then again, you'd hope they be able to avoid most of those situations in the first place AND to prepare them for moments where they might feel intimidated.

growing up in a rough neighborhood nikkas are gonna eventually try you as a young in so you have to defend yourself, once u square up with and whoop some ass if you have to then nikkas will leave you alone once they see your not a chump


moral of the story is defend yourself with words if you have to but if somebody touches me or comes anywhere arms reach if were in a heated argument then you gotta do what u gotta do, thats what my pops taught me.

This is exactly what I was taught growing up. Also what I plan to teach my kids.

Tough question, telling them to fight would probably relieve some short term embarrassment, but telling them to walk away would be better for them in the long term

For the record I was never a tough guy and people tend not to fukk with you when its known they'll get no brownie points for it, but at the same time Freshman and Sophmore year of High School where kids are just generally more immature and irrational, mad nikkas used to start shyt and ignoring it never helped.

shyt, idk, because if someone were to like spit on me or something or slap my girl there's no walking away and imma fight, but i wouldnt want my kid fighting over some nikka stepping on his j's or calling him a bytch.

fight as an absolute last resort but just know that shyt can escalate in warp speed so be aware of whats around you and play it smart. Even if you can win 99% of these battles doesnt mean that you need to be fighting them either.
