Plague or not this edition really confirmed that this shyt is :flabbynsick:status for me

Concept is outdated; Having a month long festival w/all these random sports was much more compelling back when there was no cable, no internet and three networks, back in my dads day when he would catch championship fights in the afternoon on Wide World of Sports:flabbynsick:

Also the Olympics is a sporting event for ppl that don't actually like sports; the high-profile events are all sports that people can't even pretend to care about the other 3 years, all propped up by a bunch of dumb human interest stories drama. 95% of Olympic posts on my timeline are women posting a bunch of think pieces on some "YAAAS QUEEEN" type shyt, acting like they just know discovered racism in sports when NFL fans know what time these cacs been on for a minute

You on your own on that one playa.
Dem lympics be entertaining as shyt.
Start watching random shyt like fencing and watch folks do suicide dives trying to get a point.
Or watch dressage and see horses milly rock to some commadores.
Or archery and see these cats lower their heart rate to hit a shot.
There's more entertainment in those sports than watching a buncha sea cacs swim back and forth.
Broaden your mind my G

Philly bouls, Trust the Process
I've loved watching the Olympics. Track and swimming are always amazing to watch, and I really like watching indoor volleyball.
Catching a bit of water polo and rugby is cool, Taekwando is fun to watch, beach volleyball is great :shaq: , fencing is great, table tennis is actually fun to watch
And I'm excited to see Karate, climbing, and the modern pentathlon which I don't think have started yet :ehh:

Maybe you just don't like sports as much as you thought :francis: :flabbynsick:

You sound dumb. The Olympics has had huge ratings in modern days with internet, streaming and 24hr coverage. Just cause this Olympics ain’t hitting dont got shyt to do with the Olympics as a whole. It’s because of the pandemic.

Can't cosign

The way the track events unfolded this morning was crazy. One of the goat days in track.

Swimming has been great as well.

Still a lot of events to go too.

Sounds od closed minded and gatekeepy

yeah there’s a lot of casual nikkas that hop on, but they hop on so often, they do end up learning them games. I know mad folks that don’t follow shyt but can tell you how Ledecky performed since her first olympics. My gma ask me about most of the football and basketball nuances, but I can’t hold a candle when she be talking about American excellence in this shyt.

I don’t follow it but it’s dismissive to act like there ain’t real hard hitters following this
