I thought it was sweet sweet back?

I think the point he was making is that the sentiment of that scene hadn't been done before, so once black people of the time saw that you could do something like that in a scene, it sparked the idea that you could build a whole movie around that feeling.

Unless van Peebles said so directly, I doubt this was the literal birth of Blaxploitation, but I get what he means in a figurative sense.
