Sallie Mae is usually very good regarding working things out. Call on Monday, explain your situation, and send them whatever documentation they require. W2's aren't good enough anymore, now they require an Adjusted Gross Income statement. That's usually good enough to keep you on a IBR.

Get a cheaper phone plan, get rid of ll the expenses you really don't need
Put pride to the side and ask ur parents if you can move back in while you get on ur feet

Can you borrow money from your parents or extended family??? Rather pay them back than sallie mae, y'know what I mean

I wish. That would help out a lot Sadly, I don't have anybody in the extended family with that type of money at all.

not familiar with how the student loan system works in the US but how much is the interest rate on your student loans? would it be possible to get a loan for the same amount as the balance at a lower rate (and maybe at the same time not be forced to pay as much monthly)?

It's possible, but then I'd have to be on one of their plans, which may or may not be better or worse. it'd take some research. Unfortunately though, I don't think I'm gonna be able to find a bank to loan me that kinda money. It's too risky on thier end

I sent them my tax return this year through the automated process. The have my adjusted gross income. . I shoulda done it like last year and just sent them 2 paychecks. They had no problem with that. I dunno what changed. But they are getting a call Monday, ASAP

I called her in February (we hadn't spoken in more than 10 years) to tell her about some of the good things that were happening in my life (and let her know that she is partly responsible). She was very proud of me. A week later she emailed me offering to help with my debt (I didn't even know what to do with myself). I am beyond blessed
