Malta, signing Lowry doesn't cap our abliity to improve the roster in the future. We have young developing players, cap space to pursue free agents and all our picks plus the Knicks' pick in 2016. We're no more hampered from improving in the future than any other team by signing Lowry, all it does is make us better in the present.

Yeah maybe he'll fall off in a couple of years and we have to ride out a bad season or 2 on his deal but there's plenty of space for this team to improve even if that is the case.

Again, how are you going to improve moving forward? Masai traded Gay and couldn't even get a 2nd round pick thrown in, where are the assets to trade for better players? Unless you plan of hitting a homerun in FA, how are you going to improve with picks in the 23-26 range.

I don't get how you can look at the East and not see teams loading up and improving and see how that will project towards your own success in a year or two.



Statistically, the Spurs had 1 top 20 player, 1 top 40 player and 1 top 50 player, the Raptors had only 1 of any of those last year and 1 of those this year.

Traded him for pennies... Doesn't do much.

Toronto isn't in a bad position. Sign a player to an already good team (easier to sell this, then sign to a terrible team) or hit once with a first round pick and they're set. Raptor's got an extra first rounder (Knicks/Denver pick). They already got young players that will likely improve.. Val, Ross, Bruno. That's a lot better then the 'plan' you put forward.

Demar and Val both look better this year. Val could easily become a top 50 player, and Demar is probably already there.
