threadsposter akademiks and YDB please explain your hommo-lover friend's latest attempt at SHOCK VALUE..
Vybez Kartel never ceases to amaze me
first he start off with this fukkery:
now this bumbahole has an artist coming out of his camp (gaza kartel) who calls himself Tommy Lee the "Demon" who has caused a heap load of contreversy with his imagery and themes ....
Demons & Sparta : The Tommy Lee Curse « Veritas
"I believe art is one of the most powerful forms of communication, mobilisation and ultimately, indoctrination. Ive always been mindful of the influence of music, particularly dancehall music, on the young and impressionable minds of our society. Those who have been following my blog for some time now would know my personal objection to The Gaza Empire and most, if not everything it produces. The latest talent the Portmore based empire has produced is the now infamous Tommy Lee. Since the incarceration of their god, Kartel, on murder charges the fans of Gaza have consistently repeated the refrain Free Werl Boss. When it became evident that the wheels of justice would turn desperately slow for the self styled Werl Boss, his fans craved a saviour for dancehall, a rebound figure to continue the influence and impact of the Gaza, that task fell to Tommy Lee. His methods have proven even more controversial than those of his boss. Of all the themes available, why choose a demonic one? And is that really art?
many artists and even those in the media have either questioned or lashed out at what many have questioned to be either just "art" or "propaganda" to mislead kids into chaotic evil?
as evident last night (dec. 25th) when a near riot broke out and Tommy Lee had to leave the stage once he started performing his "DEMONS" track in GUYANA...
Apparently you had a contigent of fans who were NOT supportive of Tommy's "Demons" theme and commenced to booing and throwing bottles, while a seperate crowd full of Gaza and Tommy Fans reacted by throwing bottles back resulting in Tommy Lee leaving the stage
But in my honest opinion...Tommy Lee is not the sole guilty party for this "bullshyt marketing plan" gone astray..once again the finger points at the incarcerated Gaza wanna be "boss" VYBEZ KARTEL who if you remember as a dancehall fan released a track in the summer of 2012 entitled "DADDY DEMON"
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XChDyvjUVfU]Vybz Kartel - Daddy Devil (Raw) [Uncle Demon Riddim] Sept 2012 - YouTube[/ame]
this song along with many other "contreversial moves" coming out the GAZA camp has obviously caught the attention of respected elder deejay Bounti Killa who shared his displeasure with the actions of Vybez Kartel and the "art" of Tommy Lee......
Tommy Lee just as i thought validated that it's a SHOCK VALUE attempt designed to garner attention at a time, when the biggest stars in dancehall are eithe locked up or facing incarceration i.e (buji, kartel, movado).....
Mr. Lee states..."A him name Bounty and a him sey cross, angry and miserable. I have no problem with him, mi respect and love him same way, mi just a look mine and a mek sure sey mi kids dem eat,"
So there we have it...a "starving" artist doing anything to make sure his "KIDS CAN EAT"........
it's sad...DESPERATE TIMES result in DESPERATE ACTIONS...
fukk dancehall in 2013.....
it's DEAD
