I'm going to try post daily in this thread. It'll feature my quote of the day and a short response to the quote. This thread can be a motivational tool for any black person just starting their professional journey.
This quote is the foundation of a self-made success. Learning an industry always comes before making decent money. There's a theory in economics, I can't remember the name now, but the theory says to dominate a market you have to understand it from the bottom up.
From the bottom up. That means to learn what it is you're working with, where it comes from, and how it's refined into whatever the final product is. That's the bottom.
The next step is to determine how value is assigned to the product. Basically, learn how value is determined and how people make money from the product. That's the top. The middle is learning day to day operations of a business.
This theory can be applied to anything in life.
