Most likely one kid fukked up and pulled the trigger, while the others did NOT expect or want things to go that way. Now all the rest of them gonna pay a heavy price.

When black kids commit crime it's always an extreme response:
"Give them the death sentence!"
"Give them a life sentence!"
"Try them as adults!!"
No one exercises lenience. Everyone (including some black people) are clouded by their emotions when it comes to such case. You also get comments like this:
"No point in putting them in juvenile jail. When they get out at 18 they will commit more crime"
Well, how do you know dumbass?
There's this implication that criminality is inherently/genetic. That any effort at rehabilitation is futile and a waste of time because we can't help ourselves to committing crime.
I was actually permanently banned from a forum for suggesting instead of prison maybe give them a psych eval and put them in the foster system (since their parents ain't shyt).
