A lot of these dudes already know they're not doing much in the League, so they're gonna milk this college NIL paper like a farmer squeezing teats.
The women have a similar but different situation. Because WNBA money is
, ladies that are top-tier prospects will stay 4 years to soak up all the $$$$ before turning pro and fading from the spotlight.
What ends up happening is the women keep their stars and the top teams always win...but the basketball is fairly high quality.
The male stars with lottery potential (think someone like KD), leave early, so we get left with 22+ year olds that are grown men...physical but not really elite ballers. It's just dudes running around the whole shot clock to jack up a 3 and then crash the boards for a put-back or hustle on back on D if it's a swish.
Female game is just "who got the most elite recruits and can make them stay 4 years"
Male game is just "who can get the most grown men from the transfer portal that aren't really NBA prospects." Used to be...a team winning a Natty usually had at least a couple of future All-Stars on it.
