A Florida man's reluctance to follow this simple rule of etiquette led to his arrest when he asked officers into his home — and they found 14 pounds of marijuana.
Edward Johnson III, 36, received a text from a friend Wednesday that there might be a burglar in his second floor apartment, according to TV station WFTS.
So he flagged down a Tampa police cruiser that was driving down the street and asked the officers to investigate.

They entered the home and did not find any evidence of a burglary. But the incident did end with an arrest after they found an extensive amount of cannabis.
"It wasn't just your farmer's market, grow a few plants. It was quite and elaborate setup," Tampa Police Department spokeswoman Andrea Davis told the station.
Johnson was charged with cultivation and possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia, the station reported.
