if you can compare his popularity to a modern day rapper

Also rank the 5 nwa members in order of popularity(while they were still together)

You can't really compare his popularity to a modern day rapper, no current group is as big as NWA was.

I guess this is the part where some clown says something like "b bu but Migos sold more records!".....Migos also did a song with Katy Perry. NWA went plat with no hit single, no top 40 hit, no radio play, and no video play outside of hip-hop only shows.

As far as popularity:

1. Eazy
2. Cube/Ren/Dre
3. Yella

Which seems like a cop out but Eazy was the star and then it was everyone else after him. Yella was the least popular.

He was going real sold out platinum.
That if you were stoopid enough to leave the ep on the shelf you lost.

It was one of those first rare as fukk but platinum releases ever.

This and cpo were both just hard to get.
if you were crazy enough to let them sit and fronted.
As real talk, back then regular consumers had no idea about rap at all. This was before the changes in radio as well.
I can't think of another album let alone ep that was that scarce to find.
I still remember it being in the store front window on south chicago at the vinyl shop and getting it inthr summer. Back in a lackluster year of summer rrleases. Which if i remember right.
i wanna say was the summer don't sweat the technique came out

Then my homie sleeping and he lauced't.

He lauced't all the way till they reprinted it on cd.
In like 1998 to 1999 or 2000 or so.

I wanna say before jayz blew up on volume 2.
, now i think about it. Is when the mc ren reprint showed up. As i was still looking for a jayz freeze imprint cd release of rd.
before the reprint from the explosion of volume two.

I wanna day i started seeing it again around the dynasty too. As i know i tossed the dynasty out the window on i94. In that same time my homie finally copped it on cd.

MC Ren is one of the greatest Emcee ever on The West Coast, A muthafukking Legend who dropped Classic Solo Album in Shock of The Hour and a Classic EP with Kizz my Black AZZ

part of an extremely popular group but the least popular rapper in that collective

eazy was the most popular followed by cube, then dre, after that ren and yella last

cube was easily in 2nd based off his straight outta compton verse alone

dre was definitely holding down 3rd as the rapping producer..... and the chronic was highly anticipated, are you serious? i waited in line at tower records day one just to cop

youre going off personal opinion.

I always heard ren & cube was a debate. ren had the bars.

really, whoever said 2/3/4 was whatever order, that poster gave the best list.

as for dre, only groups I can think of where the half-rapping producer was more popular than the other rappers, are the groups where the rappers suck or weren't emcees.

and dre himself will prolly tell you that the chronic was sorta like a slow burn. not too slow but not an instant smash.
Eazy over Cube?:usure:

eazy was the biggest star in the group days.

nah ren and cube was never a debate

"straight outta compton crazy motherfukka named ice cube"
" fukk the po-lice comin straight from the underground"
" here's a little somethin bout a nikka like me, never shoulda been let out the penitentiary"

songs 1-2-3 on the debut album and the most memorable bars in nwa history came from cube. not to mention we already knew him from dopeman off the macola joint
