Out of all the options, House Party. The other movie options, although good, were foreign to me.

I would say School Daze captured the late 80s early 90s best. I remember visiting aunt and uncles at their colleges in the early 90s, their sororities and fraternities, step shows, dorm parties, greek picnics, house music. Those were the days.

House Party seems like a continuation of the 80s. It was filmed in 1989

my thoughts exactly. id also say the same for new jack city with the gold ropes and kangol joints though unlike house party it was actually filmed in the 90's.. still felt mad late 80's though

i went with menace for my pick, straight up 90s classic right there. shout out to fakkit ass chauncey screaming on that white boy at his front door lol

Those are all dope movies for different reasons. If I had a ticcet for each movie in one of my poccets, I could picc anyone and it'd still be right. It's honestly the lucc of the draw. Not to attacc you but you're forgetting other classics like New Jacc City and a ton of others. You posted this a little too quicc. Blacc cinema in the 90s couldn't be fucced with :ohlawd: The thread is deadlocced, no way to picc.

No Friday?

Out of the choices I would say House Party was great at depicting the 90's lives of Black youth who weren't necessarily caught up in a life of crime.

Agreed. It seems like out the choices presented House Party and maybe Tre from Boyz in the Hood were the only non-delinquent brehs just trying to be get by. Everybody else had a pretty dark side in films.

This is a good question and I'm not sure there's a right answer...

I can tell you the movies that resonated with me the most were Boyz N The Hood, Jason's Lyric, Set It Off, and White Men Can't Jump and Menace To Society, but those are Cali-centric films (besides Lyric) and unless you grew up in or around a culture like that, maybe it doesn't define the 90s for you. I never watched Juice, I thought Boomerang and New Jack were good. But I guess my personality and background and circle of influence was easy to relate to all the shyt in the Cali movies...

Boyz N The Hood is one of the greatest movies of all time and should be on anyone's list...
