He said: “I’d be thrilled if John Cena tied my record and surpassed it. I think the world of [John] and he has been the flagship for the company for a long time. If John were to catch that title again and then he can surpass the record, I’d be very proud of him.”

Ummm look up Flair's 80's run. 86, 87 or 89. Flair was fighting Harley Race, Ricky Steamboat, Sting, Luger, Funk etc. Savage was booked against the Twin Towers and DiBiase all the while playing second banana to Hogan. Flair is far and away the greatest World Champion of the modern era and im saying this as a HUGE Savage mark.
