Starz has picked its next original series, giving a series order to drama Flesh and Bone, created/executive produced by Moira Walley-Beckett (Breaking Bad) and executive produced by Lawrence Bender, Kevin Brown and John Melfi. The green light comes after an extensive nationwide search involving thousands of hopefuls resulted in the casting of dancer Sarah Hay (Black Swan) in the lead role. Flesh And Bone follows a young ballet dancer, Claire (Hay), who has a distinctly troubled past, as she joins a prestigious ballet company in New York.

The dark and gritty series will unflinchingly explore the dysfunction and glamour of the ballet world. “From the beginning, we all agreed this project could not go forward unless we found a world class dancer who had the ability to convey the widest range of emotions that Moira has written,” sais Starz CEO Chris Albrecht. “This is one of the most challenging and dynamic characters I have even seen and am thrilled to say we found our Claire in Ms. Hay.” Added Moira Walley-Beckett, “Sarah Hay embodies the role of Claire just as I dreamt her.”

Moira Walley-Becket co/wrote the following episodes of Breaking Bad

Ozymandias
Gliding Over All
End Times
Bug
Bullet Points
Fly
Más
Over
Breakage

Created by the writer that did Ozymandias :banderas:

High school chemistry teacher becomes a drug lord? :dahell::childplease:

You cats are gonna learn to respect these "Breaking Bad" writers. This ain't the people behind "Dexter".

Fred.
A new show created by the writer of one of the best hours to ever come on tv and produced by Tarantino's boy and people complain about it being about ballet

The brilliant fukkery this show will have :banderas:

Black Swan is one of my favorite movies of the decade so far, so I'm excited about something that's in the same vein.

You ain't seen "Black Swan"? shyt was damn near a horror movie.

Fred.

I can see where he's coming from. I'm not into the ballet stuff either which is why I didn't go see Black Swan myself. I think it's a matter of taste.

"High school chem teacher goes drug lord" vs "troubled ballerina joins ballet company and shyt happens"

First one not only sounds manlier but way more interesting.

This is easy to say in hindsight but everyone in Hollywood except AMC gave Vince Gilligan the :camby: after hearing the bolded. Nobody was on board with any aspect of that show initially, including casting Bryan Cranston.

And :what: at needing to be into ballet to go see "Black Swan". Like I said, it has more in common with a horror movie than ballet. Cats need to be into ballet to watch Mila Kunis eat out Natalie Portman? :dwillhuh:
