Updated with Fathom’s official Sunday estimate. While Showtime will release the PPV revenue figures from last night’s fight in about a week, Fathom Events is reporting that their theatrical broadcast of the Floyd Mayweather, Jr.-Conor McGregor grossed $2.6M at 532 movie theaters. ComScore previously had a $2.4M figure this morning from a 481 venue count.

That number easily beats the Mayweather-Alvarez fight, which delivered over $1M to Fathom. In addition, last night’s Fathom event was the third highest-grossing title at Saturday’s box office behind Lionsgate’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard ($3.89M) and New Line/Warner Bros.’ Annabelle: Creation ($2.8M). Overall, Mayweather-McGregor ranks 8th on the weekend B.O. chart, above the weekend take of BH Tilt/WWE’s Studios’ Birth of a Dragon which drew $2.5M. Mayweather-McGregor marked Fathom’s 10th Mayweather fight, and 18th boxing match broadcast overall since 2009. Fathom tickets for last night’s fight went for about $40 a pop.

Mayweather set a new boxing recording with a 50-0 winning streak, now ahead of Rocky Marciano’s 49-0, defeating McGregor with a TKO in the tenth round.

Compared to all the other bucks flowing in from the “Money Fight,” Fathom’s haul is indeed small next to the match’s PPV projections: $500M stateside; $700M worldwide. For the second time in three fights, Mayweather earned a $100M guarantee, with McGregor taking home $30M, a number that dwarfs any amount he’s made during a UFC match. According to reports, those figures will swell once profit shares are counted, with Mayweather potentially earning $350M, 40% more than his Pacquiao fight paycheck, and McGregor depositing around $100M.

That's actually true.

And FTR the smart people like myself were watching a crystal clear HD stream for free.

And it only buffered during the 8th round. I saw the rest of the fight is real time.

same people who bet on connor to win the match

are the same people who voted for trump and expected him to make murrica great again :dead:

its not only entertaining to watch the fight, it's also entertaining watching all those idiots coming back to life after expecting a cac with no experience in boxing to win the match against the boxing legend. People are just stupid. Watching too many dumbass movies fukking up their reality sense.

Sadly in this social media era it's how you present the information, not the actual information that you are presenting. Too many naive fools in this world.
