The bigger news is that this is the beginning of a 6 fight deal between Floyd and Showtime. In the fight between HBO and Showtime, this could be a turning point. This is huge.

Cool............as long as he's fighting someone up top round the 154-147 range I'm all for it

I guess he can face Brook/Alexander winner next?

Have they released how much Mayweather is making off of this? This is a HUGE coup for Showtime. I guess HBO is going to have to double down on Adrian Broner.

It’s official. Floyd Mayweather Jr. will face Robert Guerrero on May 4 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

After weeks and months of speculation, Guerrero finally gets the crack he’s been waiting for, as most experts expected.

However, perhaps the biggest news to come out of the announcement is that Mayweather has inked a deal with Showtime and CBS, which should obviously come as a huge shock to rival network HBO, which has been televising Mayweather’s fights for years.

According to Showtime, the deal enables Floyd to fight up to six times over the course of 30 months, the first of course coming on May 4. Showtime/CBS has not divulged any further information but this news has no doubt shifted the landscape of boxing.

Mayweather’s new deal is said to be the biggest in the sport though financials have are deemed confidential (for now at least).
+ Canelo v. Trout on the undercard

Any way we can get Liev Schreiber over to Showtime for the 24/7 narrations...or whatever the show will be called now? :shaq2:

Damn HBO is done. Fallen apart ever since Ross Greenburg left in 2011.

Can anyone school me on Guerrero? I'm not familiar with him at all besides past speculation about him fighting money. :manny:
