Description: A GTS client is seeking an Help Desk Support Technician in Austin, TX. This is a Contract position with the client.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Performs Tier 1 and 2 Help Desk customer support outside of business hours.
- Works ticketing system.
- Apply updates to Windows servers.
- Performs daily data center tasks to ensure procedure compliance and proper operation.
- Manages access and monitors Information Technology data center and other secure locations.
- Manages library of backup tapes.
- Monitors network and server environment.
- Runs and monitors nightly backup jobs.
- This classification may require a flexible work schedule in order to meet the needs of the department.
- Work 3rd shift work hours: Monday-Friday 11:00pm-7:00am (once trained, this position is 100% remote)
- Pass CJIS background check
- Help Desk experience including ticketing systems.
- Provide support for desktop hardware and software problems as well as LAN/WAN problems.
- Perform highly complex software and hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Work within Windows OS and Active Directory environments.
- Work independently with limited supervision and direction.
- Demonstrate strong customer service and clear communication skills.
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Reason and make judgments and decisions.
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a directly related field AND one (1) years of related work experience; OR, Any combination of education and experience that has been achieved and is equivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.
- Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements: Valid Texas Driver's License.
- CompTIA A+ OR
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
