It's so true, and so sad that mental illness is viewed that way in our community. I'm sure we can all recall people in our lives or in our families that have these issues, but always get brushed off as oh so and so is just crazy, or so and so is just like that cause we just blindly accept, or shun that person and write them off. R.I.P to this young lady, and wish she felt comfortable enough to let her guard down, and seek help.

I agree. I dispense so many anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication but I personally believe much of it is over-prescribed. Some of those medications you shouldn't be taking on a regular basis because you'll just become dependent on it which can lead to side-effects, withdrawl, etc.

and they lucky to get pills. there so many blacks and latinos who was in the military and they get back home and majority of them don't even get the rehab to adjust back to normal ways of life and most of them end up depressed and homeless

and where i work at a port so many sistas especially the young girls have depression real bad, because most of them are alone with no one to help them and there kids. one girl quit and check herself into a hospital for mental health.

I work at a liquor store in the hood and goddamn, breh. The amount of money that a lot, I repeat, A LOT, of black people spend on the daily basis is outrageous. And they're not happy or smiling when they come in either. It's kinda fukked up man real talk. You can tell that it's taken a toll on a lot of them mentally, not just physically. It's so sad seein someone who comes in and gets like 2 pints every day at like 2 then 6 and they're just fukked up non stop. We need to step back from the booze overall man.
