For people who have ever flipped cars I have two questions.

1. Is it possible to lose money on a flip

2. Is it possible to make profit using someone else as a mechanic or is it one of those things you will only make real profit if you’re fixing things on the car yourself ?

My guy at the Lexus dealership says he uses the mechanics there whenever he needs a car flipped. Throws them a couple hundred depending on the job and they do the work. Still makes a couple thousand per flip. He undercuts the finance people when they offer to buy someone’s car that the repairs would cost more than the value :russ:

You gotta find cars that been sitting in peoples driveway and stuff. Bought a 08 civic off my mans for 900. Paid 100 to get it cleaned and sold for $1600. Not a huge profit but def some extra cash. Like breh above me said the game is fukked tho since the pandemic.

The Set
Market about to be super saturated. Millions will begin divorcing their cars soon. The new auto fallacy is over for a while.

Basically someone comes into the dealership and they tell them the cost to repair whatever’s wrong with your car costs more than the current value. Lexus will then offer to buy the car from the owner because they can do the repairs cheaper or have the connects to make a profit if they own the car instead.

The guy I know is the customer liaison for ppl who bring their cars in, essentially the middle man between Lexus and the customer. He’ll say look, the guys upstairs offered you this much, but I’ll give you this much so they sell him the car instead. He then uses his mechanic friends to help him do the work and flip it

The biggest thing to remember is that you make your money when you buy.

I’d say watch some videos of other flippers on YouTube. I watch a lot of watch ⌚ sellers and pawn shop owners on YouTube, and they are always negotiating to make a profit when they buy, not just when they sell. .

I have never, but my father dabbled in it during my youth.

On your second point, From what i recall, my father was horrible with cars but outsourced maintenance to local hispanics without papers .

The secret was to not use google. Try driving in the industrial area and look for signs exclusively in Spanish with wrench or car cartoons next to the letters. My father couldnt even speak Spanish, but i remember him saying "those amigos will hook you up" :pachaha:
