Thats true but during his tenure he never even put the issue of ending the war on drugs on the table...this forum keeps jumping the gun simplifying issues like prison reform when the political actors like the President and Congress keep the wheels churning in motion to keep the foundation of the prison industrial complex which is the war on drugs intact....Point blank there is no end of private prisons as long as the "war" on drugs keeps getting greenlighted by both democrats and republicans...this subforum seems to ignore this issue.According to the article, Obama rejected that recommendation on the week of 8/11/16. So I think he didn't do anything too "radical" for Clinton's sake. Basically, he did whatever he could do to not hinder her election chances and let her decide if she won (which we know she didn't).
If they made these changes would you still oppose them?They aren't adhering to the same standards and transparency.
They currently are not required to follow foia laws.
And unlike state and federal prisons they have the ability to lobby the government they are a sub contractor of.![]()
