Get in good with your bartender. EARLY. After about the first drink or two, you should be knowing the bartender's name. First, it gives off the false impression of friendship. Guy or girl, learn your bartender's name. Second, if it's crowded, the bartender would rather hear "Mike, Keisha, Amanda" etc. rather than "Yo!" or just waving a raggedy ass $20 bill in the air. Cuz they will give you the
face.
Also, open a tab on your card. When you're new somewhere, they expect you to pay for every drink right then and there, because they don't know you and don't know if you'll skip out on the bill. Then, you may feel obligated to tip after every drink or round served to you.
Open that tab on your card, end of the night only pay the bill on your card. NEVER tip on your card. Because the bartenders just turn the receipts in at the end of the night and management splits the tips up. But if you put a cold, crisp $10 or $20 bill in your bartender's hand...
Lastly, don't be obnoxious, acting overly drunk, etc. Act like your young ass been somewhere before. And tip generously, you'd be surprised how many free drinks your bartender will give you if they know y'all got an understanding.
I know most of y'all already know the etiquette, this for them young cats that's new to this going out, getting wasted, and still coming home with dubs in your wallet game.
