For those who say the NFL is rigged

Can you elaborate? I'm open to debate but it doesn't seem very plausable when you think about it. Wouldn't that require all the players and coaches to be in on the sham? So all that passion from your favorite players is totally faked? When college players get to the NFL are they just told the truth and nobodies expected to tell a soul?

And if the players and coaches aren't in on it and only the refs and orgsnization are, then it's not totally rigged. Refs can only do so much to ruin a game. They didn't make Russel Wilson throw the ball at the 1 yard line. If you look at Russels face, Pete Carrols face, and everyone on the teams face it was obviously real shock and a punch to the gut on that fateful superbowl play. That's just one example.

So how does this rigging work exactly?

I don't think it's rigged, but it wouldn't be too hard to rig it without letting anyone but the refs on it. It's not like we don't see questionable flags all game every game.

I don't think it's scripted or fake or rigged like WWE. I think the closest the NFL gets to that is officials being instructed to look out for certain types of behaviors and players. Just in the past decade we've seen greater emphasis on all the defensive backfield penalties, personal fouls, defenseless receiver/helmet to helmet, roughing the passer, etc etc. Some teams are obviously more affected than others by these rules, some in positive ways and some in negative ways. Whether those consequences were intentionally aimed at those specific organizations, who knows. But I think that's the closest the NFL gets

A lot of people here are rooting for the Panthers (understandably), if somehow the Broncos pull the upset people here will say it's rigged.

The way contracts are set up, I don't see how you can have this many people agree to fix an outcome

One disgruntled dude, who gets cut early in his contract can bring the entire league down if it was fixed.

Example: that "Dez didn't catch it" play
Or a few years back when Calvin Johnson caught the TD then dropped the ball and they called it a drop
Or the "Tuck rule" game

I saw a Tampa vs Colts game this year and If I was a Bucs fan I would have sworn that game was rigged. funny enough it came after the CNN Erica Kinsman Documentary

You'll see 'questionable' calls/flags/etc in all sports...at all levels. Are those middle school soccer matches fixed too? Officials are humans, shyt happens.

An NFL may make a bad call...and then a WR may drop a pass....and then an OL will miss a block.....and then a LB will miss a tackle. Yet only one of these leads to "the game is rigged" chants from fans.

if it was fixed it would only have to involve enough people to keep it slanted, not completely rigged. Refs and higher ups would be the only ones needed to slant a game certain ways. Even then it would only be for the benefit of lines and bets. But even then I dont think that would be enough money to justify rigging it, NFL makes more than enough to risk it.

It would be impossible to make it like WWE or anything like that. And if one team has it going one day, there's nothing that can be done about that. But in close games, officials could certainly tilt games. Rogue players could too but that has seemed more prominent in other countries.
