Whats crazy is that he played the 4 and Hakeem was the 5 even though he was 5-6 inches shorter.

Yeah, he had the skills of a small forward being 7ft4 . The way he moved with the ball was nothing seen before. Sampson was the godfather of these skilled 7 footers we have now like in Dirk and KG. Dude was a beast in college but I agree with the comment that his growth stunted when he teamed up with Akeem in those Twin Towers teams.

Injuries fukked up his knees and his NBA career. It was cringeworthy seeing him run up and down the court when he was playing for the Kings. :flabbynsick:

Saw him at a Chuck E Cheese when I was in the fourth grade though

I understand his career was shortchanged by injuries, but for him to still make the hall of fame shows how much skill/expectation people had in him. He must've had a fantastic college career too

This. I watched Ralph in his prime, before that knee injury, he and Hakeem were an unstoppable force. Those two are the reason why I thought the 86 Celtics were one of the best championship teams of all time. Those two combined for like 76 points one game, and the Celts managed to win that series. Had ralph stayed healthy we'd be talking about 'Keem having 4 maybe 5 rings.
