I saidI'm guessing this is what you saying:
If you speak other languages in front of you, you will be hurt.
Google translate tried it's best.
You stay in America right? Thought you were in Florida. I know you're Hatian. Is there a high percentage of English speakers out there? I imagine most speak Creole.
"if we speak another language in front of you, they'll say we're rude"
Google translate came close this time but not quite. In Creole there is no distinction between "WE" (1st person Plural) and "YOU" (2nd person Plural) . They are both expressed as "Nou" derived from the French version "Nous".
Basically what I was saying is from what I understand/experienced, Americans always tend to get offended when you speak another language in their presence. As if they feel you're talking about them or some shyt.
It'ssstupid but ...

Most Haitians who live in the United States speak English, yes. Those in Haiti, NO. A lot of the forums, Haitian forums, are filled with Haitian people who were born or grew up in the United States so for the most part those will speak English with some kreyol injected in it because certain things can only be fully expressed in kreyol . But they also have a lot of threads in kreyol because the hold hardcore Haitian folks ke to say "Kreyòl see lang manman nou. Kreyòl palé Kreyòl konprann."
Its a way of saying " Creole is our mother's language(as in mother Africa) . We speak it and keep whites (meaning foreigners) out of our space"
Haitians tend to refer to foreigners (black or white) as "blanc" which means "white"
And I've lived in Atlanta since 2005. Miami before that. Haiti before that.
