Explain

Very niche market they appealed to. Their core customers outgrew them and the generation under them is on some different shyt. Similar thing was happening to American Apparel before the metoo cases shut them down. They were appealing to a very hipster Identity and aesthetic that didn't keep up with the times.

Young kids are thrifting wearing baggy shyt and not really tied into mall fast fashion. If and when they need shyt like that they could just shein it. Forever 21 and other such fast fashion brands became unnecessary middle men when that china internet lane opened up with platforms like Shein.
