Growing up in Chicago's Little Village community, having Black dudes in Mexican/Latino gangs wasn't out of the ordinary.

From the outside looking in, it just looks like he's exploiting them to making himself an "expert" on the notorious LA gang culture. He's on TV a lot wherever LA gangs are being discussed like he's a go-to. I believe he's originally from New York. I don't see this type of thing in any other city. Like an outsider claiming to be "hood expert". He just seems like he's exploiting the notoriety of LA gangs.
