Former DriveClub and WipEout Devs Open New Studio Called Secret Sorcery

Back in May, we shared reports of Sony setting up a new studio in North West England, which will focus on creating Project Morpheus games. We also learned that the studio would be hiring former Evolution Studios staff members. GamesIndustry.biz reported this past week that ex Evolution Studios developers, who worked on titles like DriveClub, MotorStorm andWipEout, have opened a new studio called Secret Sorcery, and it seems to share a lot of similarities with the SCE North West Studio.

Based in St Helens, North West England, the team wants to “channel their creative energies into a number of original and highly immersive VR games” as it has “extensive hands-on experience” developing for Project Morpheus and Oculus Rift.

Co-founder Scott Kirkland said that Secret Sorcery is planning to share some of its work with industry partners at E3. “This is the beginning of something magical; we’re looking forward to sharing more exciting news over the coming weeks,” he said.

We wish Secret Sorcery the best of luck and will keep an eye out for any developments.

For VR huh?

So long story short, Sony was so pleased with the PS Plus version of DriveClub that they promoted Evolution studios to the same position RAREware was in over the last 10yrs :wow:
At least things are changing for the better on the greener side
