There is no shame in getting a normal job . It defeats the purpose of living in malibu if she can only do it in her car .

She could just move out of California and get a whole apartment to herself elsewhere while working a job that can pay for housing. The only moving costs for her are basically gas. Live in her car in the new city, just long enough to put a deposit down and she could reintegrate into society in two months. 3 years is waaaay to long if she doesn't have a drug problem.

My only worry for her is that she is in her mid50s and clearly has no plan for retirement. Those old people health problems arent too far away either. So she doesnt have long to start saving

You make good points, we don’t know if she’s mentally ill and capable of getting a job
