Comparison is way off base. Always disliked dude but at least he was actually behaving as a politician. He did tried to americanize our politics but ultimately he fell back.
Apologies, but outside of France the people I know thought he was an idiot. So if he was seen differently in France, my apologies.

@Liu Kang @mbewane what are the next elections looking like?

is the right still on the rise?

Is Macron and his party still unpopular?
Macron holds the center so moderates from left and right will most likely flock to him. No real alternatives on the left except Mélenchon as usual (not sure he runs next year though) and Hidalgo (mayor of Paris) is trying to build her wave. I haven't followed things closely lately so those are the big names I've remembered and seen around. On the right, it's mostly desert imo and only Le Pen on the far right is really solid. I'm predicting another Macron - Le Pen on the second round with Macron easily winning.

Imagine that. Holding people in power accountable.

Shout out to South Korea. I don't even remember how many former presidents they have in jail. I wish we could be like them.

Edit:nm. I see it's purely symbolic. SK is still the gold standard here.

I was about to mention South Korea. They absolutely do not play there

I thought Melenchon already declared he was running?
