In this day and age of sports betting, that’s not something that should be admitted publicly. It wouldn’t surprise me if the league comes out with the quickness to downplay those comments even if it is true.
This has nothing to do with this day and age. This is specifically about the ‘90s

Of course it does. If it happened then, it’d be naive as hell to pretend like it doesn’t happen now especially after the JJJ rumors last year.

We’re literally talking about subjective opinion that’s prone to human error and potential bias.

They 100% do that today too. I'm watching some players like "They gave that dude credit for that 'assist'?!"

Recently, I saw Wemby for example got some real questionable ones but they basically do that for everybody. Cats be catching a pass, hitting triple threat jab steps, into a single dribble step back = +1 assist!

Timestamped:

Some cats are stacking assists by getting the ball to a scorer and letting them do all the work :mjlol: :heh:

The only stat that is legitimate is points. Assists and even rebounds are subjective and usually there is a superstar/home team bias with them. This goes on today, try betting on a players assist or rebounds for a game and watch it. You'll marvel at what they count and don't count, depending on the player.

It says he was a scorekeeper for the Grizz. They didn't come into existence until 1995. MJ's best statistical seasons were prior to that. :umad:

He literally says that he learned how to juice stats from working as a scorekeeper in the ‘90s. And reinforced that mentality in the Grizzlies.

It originated from Jordan’s era. Stern’s NBA. :umad:
