as someone who grew up in an area in the 80s where that still happened, a lot of these elders didn't have viable options afforded to them to better themselves. They either worked from an early age to help out at home or that was the only skill they were good at an education wasn't pushed on them like it was for my generation and beyond. I still remember seeing my cousins go out to cotton fields to make money in the summer. And that was in the mid 80s breh

I always tell black people that lighter toned nothing more than devil lites. Just pit vipers with no fangs, they only fukk with us because they have to. Don't get it twisted they try to vibe with the other side until they kick em in the ass and give them their wake up call so they begrudgingly come back to us and still act like they're better than us.

We treat light skinned mutts like kings and queens and they still give us their asses to kiss.

hard living in the Mississippi Delta breh......folks think I'm full of it when I say living there is borderline lower 2nd-upper tier 3rd world. Like I have older relatives who live in such poverty and they don't want to move because that's all they know. Like if it's broke, they'll fix it. And we've tried for years to get them to move. Just won't do it. I've seen peeps go thru Detroit and treat it like site seeing post apocalyptic world type shyt. Everyone needs to hit up the Delta and check it out. It's heart-breaking
