That NWA meant shyt
NWA belt became WCW which became the wold heavyweight title belt in the WWE. Jeff trying to sanction some NWA belt out of the garbage was always a joke
Except that's just not how it works. Yes the NWA belt meant shyt, but WWE are false-claiming NWA history when they claim that their Big Gold is the NWA strap. The NWA and WCW split in 1993.
The confusion is because when Turner bought Crockett Promotions, with the name switch to WCW they just continued recognizing Flair as the Champ, but WCW was still under the NWA banner so it was two organizations recognizing the same champ with the same belt.
After WCW and the NWA split, that Big Gold became the WCW International Heavyweight title, while they also had the WCW World Heavyweight title, till they got unified in '94 and the Big Gold just became the WCW WHC.
But the NWA promoted their own champions from '93 until '02 when they basically gave Jeff the belts to do with as he pleased.
Yeah the NWA title meant jack shyt after the split, but that's the way it goes.
WWE claiming all the old NWA title history with their Big Gold has always been really :ehavb:
