Im of the opinion that buying a gaming studio whos vision you don't share is like a music label signing a hiphop artist and asking them to make folk music.
shyt is pointless, all you end up purchasing at the end of the day is the brand recognition,

Yeah, I think the thing is not giving your studios creative freedom to just move on. What creative who has worked themselves up to be in such a position want to spend the rest of their careers on one franchise?

The less leeway you give them the sooner they break off and find funding elsewhere

No big deal they decided to branch off and create a AAA studio. Thats good.
That game that they're making, why wasn't that a Microsoft internal project? Why didn't Microsoft say hey you guys have an idea and we need new IPs so we will fund it just make the game?

Unless Microsoft wasn't given the opportunity to do it should have happened.

Devs move around all the time. They wanted to make their own game.

It’s not a dozen like Gizmo says. It’s 6.

A game doesn’t even exist yet. Microsoft or anyone doesn’t have to fund every random spinoff idea.

Y’all only do this concern game when it has something to do with microsoft. Devs move around shuffle and start new studios every day B :stopitslime:

The COO comes from sumo which was purchased by tencent earlier last year.

We could concern troll and say she left because she doesn't like working at Sumo anymore, but they both seem to suggest they enjoyed their work.

Truth is, with gaming studios being purchased for billions every year and most of these folks were likely promotion capped at their previous gigs it make sense to create a studio, hopefully get a big title and cash out.

You can't expect people to just fund your dreams like they have its a dream. Once the game is developed who know Microsoft Sony or somebody will come knocking

Everyone wants to move up. It’s how any job goes.

This guy got the forza 5 director job cause the previous forza director got fable. Now he wants to move on and make his own thing. Nothing wrong with that. It happens all time :manny:
