Poll: Trump approval rating hits new low hours before inauguration

Just over a third of Americans approve of President-elect Donald Trump, according to a new poll released hours before his inauguration.

The survey from Fox News showed that 37 percent of Americans approve of Trump ahead of his inauguration, while 54 percent do not.

Measuring the country’s mood just before Inauguration Day, 60 percent of Americans said “it’s everyone for themselves,” and 34 percent said “we’re all in this together.”

The poll comes at the tail end of a flurry of surveys that show Trump as having a historically low approval rating for a president-elect.

According to an ABC/Washington Post poll released earlier this week, 40 percent of Americans approved of Trump. In 2009, 80 percent of Americans approved of then-President-elect Barack Obama.

Trump’s inauguration ceremony will begin this morning at 9:30 a.m. He will be introduced to the crowd in Washington, D.C., at around 11 a.m.

The Obamas will take their final trip on Air Force One to Palm Springs, Calif., right after inauguration ceremonies are finished.

Even 2013 was more poppin:heh:

Today all I saw was :flabbynsick: cacs with red hats.

If the Dems play their cards right, they could get back the White House in 2020. These are historically low numbers. President's usually come into power with 60+% approval rating.

Dems need to remember, Trump doesn't have a mandate to do anything.

and At least that silent majority showed their ass. We see them now.:sas2:. No more surprises.

Not surprised at all.

If you think about it, not many more than this in the country (voters and non voters) really and truly supported him. If you subtract the % that despised Hillary and that was why they voted for him, the percentage of those turned off by the entire process and some shaky cabinet picks that don't appeal to independants then this is what you're left with.

Anyone surprised by this doesn't understand the pulse of the nation.

Well we said the same thing about George W. Bush. There's a lot of unforeseen shyt that will alter the course of history. And nobody knows how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory like the Democrats.

But you're right that there's no mandate.

Not only that, but Presidents normally come into office with the highest approval number, then it goes down. If Trump follows history this number will continue to go down and that would not be a good look.

we got a lot of stupid people in this country. My family legit thinks that he's some kind of champion of the working class and that him and his cabinet picks aren't racist at all. They're legit that stupid and even think fox news tells the truth at all times. They're even dumb enough that they think the dog whistles about gun violence and Chicago among others are actual talking points and not dog whistles. Think about how stupid the average American is, and then realize half are even dumber than that.

On the surface I agree but then again up is down and down is up with him this whole cycle. This could be a floor since there are little to no expectations of him and because he is highly controversial and his #'s could go up if he proves to be more stable than expected and if he gets some good things done. The bar is lower for him.

A good portion of my family are Republican but they're not completely sold. My great aunt that lives in New York voted for him and said she thinks he cares about the little guy like you said and that surprised me...she generally leans Democrat.

Idk about the fox news part though . My dad is about it but most of my family don't care for it. They think all outlets are garbage
