I was looking through my old album collection , I found this album . Mind you I haven't bumped this since like 2001/2002 so I was suprise when I popped in my computer it worked , and I'm listening halfway through like :ohhh:. I forgot how much heat was on this album .

When BK Anthem came out , anybody who reside in NYC in late 2000/early 2001 know this shyt was in heavy rotation on hot 97

Then when Oh Yeah & Tables Will Turn came out :whew: when it comes to mergering Reggae & Hip Hop she was one of the GOAT w. it

Lets not forget Na Na Be Like

Plus , she's kinda dumb for not pushing Candy as a single , If she had a music video for this it could have been this biggest song of her career .

But , I remember even this album being popular in NYC for a brief moment , Foxy really redeemed herself with this after Chyna Doll came out in 99 and she was sounding like Kim 2.0 :scusthov:. She gets personal in this album too with tracks like "The Letter" apoligizing to her moms & brother for her outlandish acts over the years . Lyrically this is Foxy at her prime , because after this came plethora of personal issues , getting dropped from Def Jam , going deaf :wow:.

Here's the full album though , I promise you won't be disappointed

edit: oh, and "Candy" WAS a single. I don't know if it was like that all over, but it was all over the place here.

"Candy" was released on August 21, 2001. It is the 3rd single American hip-hop artist Foxy Brown's third album Broken Silence. The single was somewhat successful, considering the fact that it had no music video- yet, it managed to chart at 48 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Track Chart and number 10 on the Rap charts, though it did the Billboard Hot 100. "Candy" is the highest charted song from the album. The song was also featured on many soundtracks, noticeably in the film The 40-Year-Old Virgin

I tell a number of people that this is one of the GOAT female MC albums, if not the GOAT female MC album.

And yeah, if her brother Gavin produced it, then he produced the shyt out of this album.

Word , this is defenietly top 5 female rap albums , shyt was so versatile but raw at the same time , it almost angers me how slept on this album is .

I still fux with this - mostly, because I'm a Jimi stan and you don't hear too many songs that sample him these days - guess its from the Def Jam days:

Bought this album when it came out. I remember being stunned at "The Letter" first time I heard it. Wasn't expecting that kinda realness at all.

"Gangsta Boogie" was my shyt! Back then, Neptunes were untouchable. I actually heard "Candy" for the first time since 200-whenever just last week at a club.

Overall, the album wasn't good, even back then. A ton of bullshyt, filler beats and overall lukewarm cuts. A couple tracks "Oh Yeah" and "The Letter" were so damn hard tho

"Broken Silence" was an instant classic... gettin turnt up to dis ish with teammates pre-gaming to go molest some bar PAWGs down by the bars on the Rhode Island coast:wow:

:blessed: To the college years, 2001 was the last stand for the golden age of hip hop, and the gods went out gunz-a-blazin'...

Always thought Foxx was the female BIG in terms of voice, style, versatility... It would feel like he was channelling through her songs sometimes, none moreso than on this overlooked gem:lawd:
