Man honestly, I've never really got into duke. Melvin Newton (Huey Newton's Brother) is my father in laws mentor. Last month, he came to a family gathering in Chula Vista. We had a talk, and I asked him so many questions. But then I asked him about Fred Hampton and why did it seem the cops were adamant about taking dude out. He said Fred was about to unite the gangs in Chicago with the Panthers party. Any writings anyone know about, good books, articles or videos about this brother?

I don't really know anything about him. He died so young. He sounds brilliant, maybe even above the level of a Malcolm X. This is a good video on his murder.

His segment on Eyes on the Prize

RIP Hoover and Nixon. And the R and the P sure as hell don't stand for rest or peace:pacspit:

Not to take away from any of our other black leaders, but they all had time to grow into the leaders we now know them to as.

With Fred man...Fred was seen as such a threat the powers to be felt that they had to take him out. Bro did so much in such a short time.

On top of the breakfast programs and clinics and all of the things all chapters were required to do, he was walking into meetings with gang leaders to broker peace deals.

And this is taking place with the fbi lying on fred and telling those leaders that the panthers were really trying to take over their drug trade.

Fred at 19-20 yrs old still walked into that and came out.

Does Unk have any stories about Bunchy?
