while i agree with this...I dont know if Madlib makes beats that suit him the most either.
I aint trying to hear that tired trash. Madlib is better than all of that trap garbage and Gibbs flow is too cold to be drowned out by that overproduced noise.
I think he just sounds good with beats with good basslines and at times keys as well. But beyond that, he sounds best when the beats are hard beats
The hard, Heaven can wait, FAME, Lay it down, Live by the game, Stay Down, Barely Made it, Twos and Fews, Anything to Survive... these are songs where Gibbs is at his best. Still Livin 2, BFK, Money Hoes Clothes etc too.
The MadGibbs songs arent on the same level. Theres not enough rhythm to them maybe? Not sure what it is but something is missing and I think its bass. I'm sure a whole project will bring the absolute heatout
