Album is an honest depiction of a cokehead degenerate. It's one of the reasons Freddie is a lot more interesting than many of these other rappers....he shows who he is in his music, warts and all.

Facts!

Dude is just himself in his raps. So all the weaknesses and dumb sh*t he does is on display, without the frontin'. You throw that in there with his ear for beats, and you get some really dope music. Gibbs can't lose on Alchemist production.

Yep. Same thing I was reminded of with $$$

When Freddie goes in his introspective bag that’s why makes him one of the best imo. And it’s the level of detail too. Thats what separates him from a Pusha or Benny imo. Freddie gon tell you all his L’s not just bragging.

I've already arrived at that conclusion :manny: . The production is fukking immaculate.
Yeah bro. It's probably top 3 Alc batches for me this side of 2020. Depending on how it ages it could even move up.

These beats are fukking crazy. I always love the knockers and this is the most knocking batch he's out out overall since My 1st Chemistry Set and Lord Steppington.

Covert Coup will always be my #1 though. And that was basically my intro to Freddie as well :wow:

I was genuinely not expecting to like this more than Alfredo I. They outdid themselves. "Shangri La" and "Ensalada" (among others) have no business sounding that good.

I think Alc best work is far and away the boldy james tape.
Covert Coup after that

This is up there though, not a skip on it beat wise

Dudes were wondering how some of us could nitpick Pharrell’s production on clipse album. Well…both of them are goats so the bar is high. There were some misses by Pharrell. Off 2 listens Alc ain’t missin on this

This is why I'll always prefer samples over non-samples. If you sample, you can literally have any sound you like. You can make a beat sound like anything as long as you've got an ear and a collection to search through.

If you play music, unless you're able to play every instrument, there's going to be a lot more limitations of what things can sound like. There are so many of the same drum sounds and synths in Pharrell's beats. Every snare drum on Almost Dry is a rimshot snare. Ace Trumpets, So Far Ahead, and Let God Sort Em all have very similar if not identical synths.

I love the new Clipse album BTW it's top 2 AOTY for me so far, and I bought it an everything. I'm just thunking out loud here.

Which Boldy lol I assume Bo Jackson since that's the one you just shared? Both Bo projects are super flames and Price of Tea in China is classic too.

Alc gives his best beats to Boldy James most of the times...

Perfect description. Gibbs aint scared to show his vices and let you know he a piece of shyt. He wears it proudly and is unapologetic about it all. His flow is like water as well. The man just marries to Al's production.
