This is a country with a population the size of l.a county. I don't think we can apply this policy to America. A country where people actually work. Americans can't afford distractions that come with a drug problem.

It's supposed to be multi part process. Remove the criminal penalties for possession of recreational amounts. Usage facilities so folks not in the streets strung out. Then you need Testing or administration of the drugs so the stuff isn't killing people. And lastly you need social workers, therapist, etc meeting continously with these people trying to get them back to being productive members of society. Portugal already doing it

Do they think that addicts when given free drugs, or in the case of Seattle, free tin foil so they dont shoot up (good?), and police look the other way...that they just do drugs at home and then continue their daily lives? Are they supposed to all just do drugs in The Carter? Nah, its right in front of your favorite restaraunt, covered in piss, sleeping in your parking garage, scaring the shyt out of your female coworkers.

Seems risky. Weed is one thing but heroin and meth? Seems like it would create more problems than it solves as those drugs are highly addictive.

How would current hard drug users eventually get themselves off the drugs? Are these facilities screening folks to make sure they aren't creating NEW addicts?
