the problem is cost. Schools don't have no responsibility because students borrow. You have trillions in student loan debt and no collateral. Student loans should be set up to be paid back within 4 years of graduating depending on the profession. And your degree should be the collateral so if you don't pay the loan off by a certain time the degree is voided.
:ehh:interesting idea...I'd advocate for capping the amount of federal/private loans that one can take out thereby forcing alot of these institutions to either provider better financial aid packages or work with what people can actually afford.

I think there needs to be a trajectory in the discussion of just how much more these colleges need to invest in their students rather than the reverse.

Skip college save your loot and get into the working world ASAP. No shame in learning a trade anyway the world doesn't need more office clowns with some stupid degree
Perhaps degrees/degree programs are so diluted these days thus why you feel that way. I understand it. Too many business and psychology majors out there. :manny:

But college is supposed to be a place you go to learn how the world works and then focus on a specific skill/trade/craft. Thats what it was meant to be. As to what it has become now with so many people with meaningless degrees and partying... is up for debate.

Sure there are some trades that can be learned on the job. You learn the science of a trade in college and when you graduate you still have a lot to learn in the real world. So sure, your mechanic doesnt NEED to have a college degree. But tell me, how comfortable are you when you find out that the doctor operating on your newborn's heart didnt go to medical school? :ld:
Do you get that warm and fuzzy feeling about that nurse in the ER who has to sometimes make decisions about your care when the doctor is not available knowing that she didnt go to school to know that your condition, while typically treated with drug ABCD, will only worsen if she injects you with drug ABCD because little did the know that you are allergic to XYZ and drug ABCD can cause certain reactions when mixed with your prescription for XYZ?

Again, doggy. College isnt for everyone. But clowns like you that like to blindly dismiss it are playing yourselves.

While i love the idea the f@ggots on Fox News brought up an interesting point about this this morning.

Anyway, the creep Huckabee said that while it would do some good to those who take advantage it is likely to fail because most people won't/dont appreciate what they get for free and didn't have to work for.

At first i looked at him like "sure, racist f@ggot. Anything you feel will raise your taxes is a waste, huh?". But as drove away i started thinking: I have done this too. Many things i got for free i have wasted. I had to pay my own way through college (thus the $60K student loans) but i remember a lot of the mofos that i went to school with that received financial aid would often not take the sh!t seriously.

So there needs to be a system in place eliminate those wasting the money and resources. Like one should have to show steady academic progress in order to stay in the program on a per semester basis.

the problem is cost. Schools don't have no responsibility because students borrow. You have trillions in student loan debt and no collateral. The problem do maybe in cost but I agree with @Intruder v3.0 more on this. I am one of those lucky people who has full ride financial aid. First year of college, not only was I 16 but I also wasn't too sure on what I really wanted to major in. I like to draw so I major in Animation but didn't want to sit thru 4 years of college. Not only that, Animators don't need a degree. I use to shrug & do whatever classes and fail some of them not giving a damn because it wasn't coming out of my pockets. But every Fall & Spring semester the college (at least the colleges in South Florida) would do a review. Based on the number of credits you signed up for and outta those you obtained, if it's below like 67% they cut your financial aid quick. Outta the 2 semester I registered a total of 27 credit courses but only obtained 13 outta that 27. That's less than 67%. They cut me off for a year. That shxt hurt me :mjcry: but it was an eye opener to not take the free money for granted. I switched my major to Radiation Therepy, I just turned 20 a month ago & work for the government. I got a year left in the program then I plan to transfer to the VA. So yes.. The cost may be high in school but it all depends on that student. Majority gets full ride financial aid or scholarship and treat that as if it was expectant. I was one of them but learned my lesson quick. The whole collateral thing you spitting @Ethnic Vagina Finder is smart tho. :obama:
