All I know is Freeway ain't thinking "free" enough to come up with a title that doesn't have the word Free in it.

His last few tapes from a marketing perspective can't even be differentiated from one another. The only titles that kinda standout are Black Santa and Highway Robbery. But the "Free" puns need to fukking STAHP.

Not even remotely surprised they're delaying the release. He has absolutely no hype right now, and all he talks about is Free this and Kidney disease that. I'm saying this as a Freeway fan (Highway Robbery was dope one of my fave Jacka collabs) but his promotion has been horrible. Talk about what the fans want to hear and make it interesting if you tryna sell THEM music....not a damn documentary about you in the hospital but the music/album.

Hell, he just had a fire freestyle a couple weeks ago on Flex, but did he even mention ThinkFree? Or maybe he did but the title and concept is so trash it never stuck with the audience.

nah,i feel you,i think the last real dope project twas that Freelapse mixtape,he did his thing on that, even showed he had a sense of humor, cause he's usually pretty Sirius, both as an emcee and a regular dude,at least from the video's i've seen..Freeway's Beard twas dope and hella funny,to me at least..he smoked both the 2001 beats,Role Model&Freezers Back were funny too(especially the latter) the zoom zoom ,two dykes in the room make the night right&when he says he wishes he could clone Alicia Keys (:russ:) were both humorous&a good example of how he grew as an emcee

2010 twas a good year for him cause The Stimulus Package twas a banger too..wait,which one dropped first, cause i think they were both dropped in Feburary..i guess i'm splitting hairs on that though, either way they both banged..and No Brains wasn't particularly good lyrically, but he sounded gansta as fiddduck ridin that West Coast-ish beat

and i didn't think Highway Robbery stuck out very much,i liked the mixtape they did better..and even so both weren't better then They Don't Know from Tear Gas,that shyt twas hard&spiritual at the same time

i wish him&Mega Montana could've a duo album whilst King Jack was still alive, rest his soul, could you imagine Mega spitting over Rob Lo beats or Jack spittin over a Havoc or Large Pro bruh..le sigh:mjcry:

Well there ya go. You saying Highway Robbery wasn't even that good but that's the one I ended up listening to just because of the collab between two dope artists. Just as i was saying, his marketing is trash. No more "free" bullshyt, and do something to make tapes stand out. If he's got great records that aren't being checked out that tells you all there is to tell.

The kidney disease thing is some serious shyt, but why is he talking about that more than his upcoming music? 99% of people don't give a fukk bout his disease, so why dedicate a whole documentary and then try to promote it like they'll actually care? He borderline trying to force them to care about his personal problem, when has that ever worked in rap music? You could drop dead and people won't give money to your crowdfund for your funeral. Freeway should have put out the music first, promoted that like an actual artist and then drop the documentary a month or two in

Freeway should try to collab with some popping artists too. Make people know he exists. He dropped one random single a month or two back and nobody gave a fukk about it. Even I didn't replay that shyt back. Freeway has the name that anybody would collab with him. Call up French or Dave East or Ross, they pickin up. If it's an ego thing then that's what the management is for. Roc Nation makes one call and they deliver a verse.

Edit: Matter of fact, I know they did exactly that with Fat Joe. He delivered a verse, so why the fukk ain't Freeway putting that out?

I have a love/hate relationship with dope artists who don't market themselves properly. It tells me they don't really have a love for their craft. They are lazier then they would like you to think because they're not giving it their all even though they have the resources at their finger tips.

we have vastly differently outlooks when it comes to hip hop then, cause unless you're on his team, know him personally,or worked at a record company with, etc, then what does it matter what he really sells, people pocket watch&indulge theirselves in pocket watching and such,in fact forget it,i'm not breaking it down..maybe i'm just a nostalgic dude and love hip hop enough to stay on top of it

and you're projecting quite a bit, where did i ever claim he was making great album and clockin massive amounts of FIAT notesi merely wanted to know if they had any info as to why it didn't drop..and stop subconsciously making claims about a serious health problem,if you're such a visionary go twat him on twatter and sell the idea..i honestly don't give a shyt except to the extent that ii want them to make some kinf of profit so they can continue to keep making music..and you must not really listen to Free, dude is already a Muslim&believes just recording music is haram,so i highly doubt he's doing this to make anyone pity him,and whilst i love hip hop artists that spit about their real life in an honest fashion, but that's ultimately his choice,if he doesn't though that's fine too,he's the one undergoing the suffering..

sadly, the only real marketing done these dayze is dressing like a clown,or a female,or both, and just go on social media and degrade yourself and spout outrageous lies, and sadly music wise the only genre that resorts to this sort of embarassing shyt is hip hop,i guess i'm old school cause i care about the music, whilst most the popular puppets(i refuse to call them rappers, much less an emcee) seem to put all their energy into anything but music..

And here you are, asking why and when his album delayed gon drop. My points have validity and hence why it's affecting you as you can't hear his music. I was just trying to have a discussion.

Project on you? I wasn't even complaining about you. I was complaining about Freeway's marketing. I only complain about artists I fw. I don't give 2 shyts about rappers who I don't care about to be commenting on how they should promote themselves. I'll just straight up ignore them.

I do know he's Muslim, which is why I know he's doing it in order to make a living. So you saying he doesn't care about the money doesn't make sense. Money is the only reason he'd do it despite saying it's Haram. But that's irrelevant and you bringing that up (while questioning why I went off about marketing). Most Muslims listen to some form of music [its musical instruments that's Haram, but its literally everywhere] no matter which culture they are from, it has no significant bearing on someone's faith. The people who get hung on up on pleb level stuff are usually the one's who are selfish & simple-minded and the type to obsessively pray to God dreaming of heaven for yourself while Muslims are genocided and not care about that even tho that's the higher-level concern. I would say him supporting Hillary was the actual red flag, a person who has Muslim blood on her hands. It's best to stay neutral, boycott or go third-party when faced with two evils. Not the fact that he makes music, there's level to this shyt in religion.

Anyways, you made a thread about Freeway, so I made points that I felt related to the topic. I don't care about sales (money), I care about how much impact someone or something has on the culture past and present. Freeway I think should receive bigger attention for his projects, and you're fooling yourself if you don't think he doesn't want as much attention as possible for his work. Some people just don't put the appropriate work in, they put it somewhere else. It's a whole package, but not everyone's great at everything.
