That's the type of dude he is tho. If he's on the block then he's going to make it so that no one else can be on the block. Including the hot dog stand

Fif influence in Hip Hop is :demonic: that stopped a lot of black men from eating. How can people say that Fif is "from the streets" when he tried to stop D-Block and Terror Squad from eating? :wtf:

Nas and Jay re-established their status as legends when the b and c list rappers were beefing or making faux party tracks like southerners.

To be fair though to east coast dudes rap is a competitive thing. Me vs you on the mic and keys see who's better. Most of the dudes from that era, including 50, grew up battling. But at that time there was no balance to it. As opposed to the 90s where beef on wax was mostly subliminal shots. No be tried to block anyone from eating. It was all in the spirit of competition

FIf took it beyond lyrical competition. He destroyed that essence and that made people SCARED to beef cause they afraid that they gonna stop eating.

Yeah in retrospect he was bad for the game. Long term anyway. I guess he figured his reign would last forever and that g unit would be a better crew than they turned out to be. Imagine what could've happened had he not been such a douche or put aside his issues with game? Oh well

Who Lollipop? Naw I meant who the fukk I said
:stopitslime:

Soo Lil Wayne historic mixtape and album run from 2004-2009 didn't help keep mainstream hip hop alive? :usure:

Jayz and Nas had to team up because Wayne had a grip on the game. Not to mention TI was doing it as well.. If he didn't have faced all that legal trouble his legacy would be very different right now.:wow:

I was more heavy on Plies,Jeezy,T.I,Wayne,Stack Bundles during that span....definitly fuked with Jay too but the term "hold it down" might be a little strong as neither were dominant in terms of quality, success, hottest in the streets....held it down for lyricism in the mainstream like they always do though:manny:

How do people downplay the negative shyt that he has done? He the reason why NY didn't have the power to pass down to the Saigon/ Papoose generation.

Nobody was going to "pass down" to ANYBODY regardless of fifty cent. You gotta forge your own path. Saigon and Pap were victims of their label situations. Nobody passed down to 50 himself, dude was blackballed heavily in the industry to the point where Irv Gotti could get him replaced on a J.Lo feature with Nas. 50 hustled his ASS off dropping mixtapes and buzzing in the streets and made the right moves once he got to Interscope to the point where Em and Dre fukked with him.

Na them nikkas was just :trash::pachaha:

You cant blame NY rap downfall on 50:usure:

If they wanted to become successful on a mainstream level then they should've been producing music like they wanted it. I mean a lot of those new NY rappers thought everyone would be feeling them just cuz they from NY:pachaha:

Saigon is FAR from trash breh. Dude dropped Greatest Story Never Told 5 years too late and that
shyt STILL sounded fresh. If it would've actually dropped when it was supposed to and Atlantic hadn't fukked him around it would've been a bonafide East Coast classic

WELL, the label situation played a major part, yes, but beefing killed off any chances of NY having another successor to Jay/ Nas.

No, it wasn't.

Is the electric slide shucking and jiving?

theres no buffoonish behavior attached to the electric slide.

this "debate" is getting silly.

Fif fukked up the mainstream level for NY artists. He dissed then when unity was needed the most. That gave the south the opportunity to dominate because people were tired of diss tracks and they want them c00n ass party tracks.

:what:

everybody in the south was beefing as well.

this whole "unity" spill is just some chit that people started repeating because it sounds right. in reality, its just a crock.

rap beef is only a problem when dudes start throwing their political weight around.

only a few people actually wanted to get to the real core, I see. this is mostly just a jay/nas fanfest. im not into that type chit. be real wit the game.

yea because nas and jay never stopped rappers from eating, right?

how you gonna say all that about 50 and then give props to them in the same post?
