Far be it from me to pocket watch BUT...Bron can't have it both ways. You want your 50 million...fine...but you ain't getting another star to play with AND depth. Not in today's NBA.
What's crazy, in a hypothetical scenario, if Billionaire Bron took the veterans' minimum his entire time with the Lakers, he'd probably have 6 rings.
GOATs like Brady took a paycut for the sake of winning. Jordan, who Reinsdorf admittedly would have renegotiated his contract (before the 2nd threepeat), never bytched about not being in the top 20 highest paid players in 13 out of his 15 seasons.
Can't put this all on Pelinka...no GM...no matter how skilled can pull off miracle moves with no money.
And for those saying "take the money" I feel you but if you forego the money, gamble on yourself, and win....you stand to make even more money on the back end.
It's like a hollywood star who doesn't take a lot of money up front in exchange for points, in hopes that the movie is a hit and they can make money off the residuals.
Funny I literally just texted the same thing to a friend a few minutes ago. I like Austin as a player but Luka is obviously the centerpiece going forward. Playing him and Reeves together is going to make it hard for the Lakers to win having two defensive liabilities in the starting lineup. Trade him now while his value is probably at the highest it'll be.Austin Reeves may have to go in order to improve this roster
As a Laker fan yes that would be amazing. But Lebron is old with one foot out the door. As well as one of the most famous people on the planet. In no world would he make that money back on the backend by taking a huge paycut. His stardom can't get any bigger.Far be it from me to pocket watch BUT...Bron can't have it both ways. I said they needed to move him in the off-season months ago and someone on here was acting like I was crazy.Austin Reeves may have to go in order to improve this roster
Cap on both counts
but what a graceful winner Ant is

Last offseason was different that was before they got Luka.I said they needed to move him in the off-season months ago and someone on here was acting like I was crazy.
I'm not talking about last off-season.Last offseason was different that was before they got Luka.
You can't have two guys in the starting lineup on the perimeter that can't defend
One a them has to go
They should move him this summer, but the Lakers know nothing about trading a player when they are most valuable.
Why are we forgetting that Lebron literally offered to a take a massive paycut last year?Far be it from me to pocket watch BUT...Bron can't have it both ways. You want your 50 million...fine...but you ain't getting another star to play with AND depth. Not in today's NBA.

Ok my faultI'm not talking about last off-season.
Westbrook trade really was the downfall of the Lakers, crazy how much the roster has changed since then.
Having a whole new roster mostly every year since then is not healthy.
