It's not that. It's the current culture of our franchise. How many times did Kobe's career did we have a hyped up top team and fukking lose early? Even in the late 90s with the Jazz/Spurs, it wasn't the first round and Kobe was a teenager.
When we got Pau we got right to it. Finals, rings, etc. Even the 2004 team got to the Finals.
Dwight is the only example and it's not even a guy Kobe particularly wanted. And even then, Kobe got hurt before the playoffs.
Only in Bronland are you winning 50+ games and aint doing shyt. Winning 50+ games but the offense is trash. How many trash offenses did we have with Kobe? Even with Smush we had top 10 offenses pretty much every season.
In Kobe era when we had a contending roster, we typically contended. In the Bron era it's a bubble outlier with constant bullshyt. Westbrook failure, trying to cover up Westbrook failure by pretending he realy wanted Droz, enabling AD being a bytch, can't make an offense go with Luka. Last year it was oh we're perfect matchup for Denver and oh nvm we get our ass sent packing.

It’s like people don’t know how to just enjoy the sport. Most of these wild takes & “hope” come from a certain demo. The other are legit fans who just don’t know how to watch the team any other way.
