My boy got fired from office depot for stopping a thief. Funny thing is there asset protection/loss prevention was an outside company. 2 days later he went in for his meeting and "was allowed to resign" then they immediately hired him for loss prevention at the same store! It was an 8 dollar raise.
His boss was like

you blatantly violated company policy by chasing that guy that was stealing. It's not in your job description and not in your pay grade. Frankly, I'm pissed.
If you want to do asset protection there is an opening and based on what you displayed your more than qualified. You can start training on Monday which will give you the rest of the weekend off, and it's a higher wage, is that something you're interested in?
