the comments in here are so outrageous you just have to laugh. Fitz is being graded like he's Brady or Rodgers because for whatever reason they think Geno somehow got shortchanged here.

If Geno doesn't play this year off-season will be something. I can guarantee Fitz be back unless someone throws money at him. I wonder what will happen with Geno.

Geno getting hurt could really shatter his future with the jets and how Petty develops. We know how teams operate of course Geno was our starter so they talked him up but anybody who can read between the lines know Petty was drafted for a reason. So we will see.

We talk about Geno weapons but a good qb learns to overcome that. In this league some positions will be shortchanged. Look at Cam Newton and his receivers and it's been like that for years and he's winning. Now don't get me wrong we wish Geno could come close to Newton but my point remains no team is perfect. A good quarterback overcomes that. Coaching plays a factor too. That west coast scheme was not meant for Geno at all. Qb to succeed in that system has to be laser sharp.

we've become overly focused on Fitzpatrick ...he's been pretty good so far as we're 4-1. But the big money is invested in the defense..they need to continue to make plays for us to make noise. The team isnt built for Fitzpatrick to throw 40+ times. As long as he continues to complete at a good % and not take sacks you have to like the return on the 7th rd pick. I dont think the longterm answer at QB is currently on the roster, however.

At New Englands going to be tough as shyt.

I would like to see how Petty develops. It's a good thing he's learning on the bench. He has all the tools but he's a project right now. We will see what he can offer next year.

The thing Fitz has going for him is Chan Gailey. Gailey knows Fitz better than anyone and said himself long as we keep Fitz from getting sacked he can play good enough. Is Fitz going put up great stats ? No but if he does what we need him to we will be alright. We just gotta focus on how we will get our deep ball to work. Teams are naturally going play the short and intermediate throws but we gotta learn to win deep. Fitz and Devin smith have no chemistry at all but somehow Fitz does with owusu somewhat. Our major problems on offense is deep ball and running backs not named ivory.

And our defensive line needs to get more pressure. That help create more turnovers.

makes up for the lack of arm with getting rid of the ball on time...no sacks again today which is incredible. 73% completion as well with 3 total TD's.
look at the teams we beat no elite ones
if we got denver in the offs we'd get blown out they'd sit on all those 10 yard routes he like to throw he has to use his whole body to throw deep
im sure bellicheck gon cook us

I mean lets cross that bridge when it happens. We know his limitations. A hypothetical game against Denver we'd need our D to match theirs obviously.

We played them close a couple of times over the last two years with worse teams. You make it sound like they're going to pull our pants down and blast our culos on prime time. We'll do fine.

Itll be a huge test. You just know belli is going to be attacking our LB's in coverage throwing short routes to lewis, edeleman and amendola all day. If skrine is out thats huge.

We can win for sure. But i could also see pats torching us and fitz throwing 3-4 picks. Ivory is the potential equalizer, if we can control the clock and let ivory go to work we can win

you're already setting yourself up to blame the defense if and when we lose to a good team. What is the point in doing that?

Clearly you're not viewing this team the way we are. We're thinking short and long term. Now you said "let's cross that bridge when we get there." Cool. But you seem to be in denial of the fact that we're gonna get there. And when we get there you'll be kicking and screaming the whole time and deflecting on every other player because we'll know what Fitz is really made of.

@Jughead is right. Given what we've done with worse, there's no reason to be shook. I can't wait to get to those fukkers.

Oh, most definitely. I hope it didn't seem like I was coming at homie sideways either. That's the bro. I just always rejected the notions of foregone conclusions when it comes to these types of games. That's the same thing they said about NO & ATL a year or two ago, NE last year when it came down to the wire and I think we lost by either one point or a field goal, they said it about and the Colts this year. There's a reason the "Any given Sunday" slogan exists, and while noone here would even fix their lips to call us world beaters, I think we're going to end up being a better team than anyone gave us credit for. Then again, I'm a stupid Jets fan so :manny:

Most definitely. As the bro, Bart Scott said:

you know what brehs for all of fitzpatricks faults we are in a great position and I did not expect us to have this record. Even though our defense and ivory is what's carrying this team he has done several things that's helped us during our wins(turning into Vickzpatrick)
Our recievers have had some faults too with their fumbles and drops.
